The BBC micro:bit is a pocket-sized creative technology board designed for education. It features a 5x5 red LED array for simple graphics and character messages, two programmable buttons, an accelerometer and magnetometer for motion and heading detection. It also has Bluetooth Low Energy communication capability, a 2-pin JST battery connector and a micro-USB port for programming and power. Many programming options are supported, including the MakeCode Javascript Blocks Editor,  MicroPython, and more!

The heart of the microbit is a 16MHz, 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0 microcontroller with 256KB Flash, 16KB RAM and a built-in temperature sensor. The micro:bit's main connector has 20 gold-tabbed edge pins and five ring connectors (three for digital/analogue I/O, and two for power and ground) for hooking up external components. The tabs with larger holes can be easily used with alligator clips or banana plugs for rapid prototyping.

Note: the micro:bit is produced in four different colours: blue, magenta, green and orange. As these are supplied to us randomly, we have no control over which colour of micro:bit you'll get.
